Tyler Buchanan, 24, from Scotland and believed to be a key figure in Scattered Spider, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. The group sent hundreds of SMS phishing messages to breach over a dozen companies between 2021 and 2023, stealing $8M in crypto. He faces up to 22 years in prison. Sentencing is set for August 21, 2026.
