When the weather gets hot, all the natural water sources which are already diminished due to human activity and habitat loss start to dry up. Bird baths are great and will get used. But if you put a shallow dish where non-flying animals can reach, you’ll be delighted by the visitors you receive 🥰

pro-tip, you can find wide and shallow trays a few inches deep perfect as ground watering vessels if you look up catering trays on Amazon! I got big deep ones to use for extra big dog water bowls and wide trays to feed our two litters of puppies for a fraction of the price of special extra large dog dishes. Or use an old big dog bowl if you have one. I’ve got one down out front and the resident squirrel 🐿️ drinks from it ☺️ it’s hot out there and animals suffer because we’ve dried up all the intermittent streams and drained the wetlands 😢
