📱 What comes after big social? Community call #2627 with Kimmo (Lens)

This week Kimmo joins us, someone who's spent years building tools that let people actually own their presence online instead of handing it to big platforms.

We'll get into where social media is headed, what it takes to break free of the data harvesting machine, and plenty more.

Oh, and there's an ongoing NymVPN x Lens drop you'll want to hear about.

💸 Private money meets private internet — Community call #2626

Could you live on crypto alone? Joël Valenzuela has, for about ten years now: paid only in crypto since 2015, no bank account since 2016.

A lot of that has run on Dash, a privacy-focused digital cash coin built for fast, everyday payments. He's dropping in to talk about life off the banking grid, the state of private money, and whatever else comes up.

And yes, Dash is already a way to pay for your NymVPN subscriptions!

📡 AI Surveillance and Freedom of Speech — Live from ETH Zurich

AI-powered surveillance is redrawing the boundaries of privacy and expression. As companies like Google and Palantir pour resources into it, the question of what role we want technology (and ourselves) to play has never been more urgent.

Tomorrow, the ETHics Forum hosts a panel with whistleblower Edward Snowden (virtual), investigative journalist Marguerite Meyer, and former Google employee Vikram Subramanian. Moderated by Nym's own Dr Jaya Klara Brekke (CSO).

We're bringing you the stream, so you can watch from anywhere.

❗️Important Announcement ❗️

Announcing new pricing for NymVPN

Nym will soon be introducing new prices for NymVPN. We're raising prices on some plans to reflect the maturity of the app and what it offers for privacy protections.

Most importantly, we will be retiring the 2-year plan for new customers. So if you want to take advantage of the lowest monthly price while it's still available, now's your chance. Don't wait.

If you want to upgrade your plan, please reach out to Customer Support in the next few days and we'll try to hook you up.

Read here for all the details.

AMA with Sudo — Community call #2625

We didn't get to do last week's Budapest call the way we planned, so Sudonym is picking it back up solo. It's a 1 hour AMA where you can ask about NymVPN, the roadmap, privacy, what's going on at Nym, or whatever else is on your mind. You'll get your answers live.

Drop your questions below or bring them to the chat tomorrow!

⚠️ Nym Swapper update

We’re currently aware of an issue affecting swaps through the Gravity Bridge.

Some transactions may remain stuck in the Gravity contract until the bridge is turned back on. To prevent any further affected transactions, nym.com/swapper has been temporarily disabled and now redirects to swap.nym.com, which is safe to use while this issue is being resolved.

If you have an affected Gravity Bridge transaction, you can also reach out to their team directly for assistance: gravitybridge.net

Thank you for your patience while we work through this.

⚠️ Hi everyone: We have temporarily removed the NymVPN v2026.12 release that was made available on GitHub yesterday. We're diagnosing a network issue with account credentials that is causing some devices to fail to get their valid zk-nyms. Thanks for your reports, we're on it!

Note: This is not a problem with the new v2026.12 apps, which we will be re-releasing shortly once the credential issue is sorted.

Hold tight, the new release will still be cool. 😉
