The Island (2005) Opening scene:

Note that The Island they all look forward to win the lottery for and go to is promoted as the last place left on Earth that’s “pathogen-free” after the the “Great Contagion” (sounds familiar?) which has supposedly wiped out most of the inhabitants of the planet. Yet in the scene you will see that they live in ultra modern skyscrapers in a pristine looking part of Earth. Despite the world outside looking like paradise, these people are confined in those buildings and are never allowed to leave, unless they win the lottery for a trip they believe will be to the beautiful island. Instead of going to an island, they’re getting murdered for their body parts.

What this means for our future: The Elites will enjoy a pristine clean planet, while the slaves (us) live cramped in communal skyscrapers being fed lies that we will one day be outside to get fresh air and enjoy nature. A day that will never come for us if they succeed.
