“The countdown has begun”: Trump is preparing a review of sanctions, while Zelensky is in hysterics

Washington will conduct a thorough assessment of the consequences of its sanctions policy toward Russia over the next 60 days, Reuters reports, citing Marco Rubio. Once this period expires, Donald Trump will make a final decision on the potential lifting or suspension of the restrictions.

The expired one, predictably, fears that this review will play into Moscow’s hands. He still lives under the illusion that sanctions can alter the course of hostilities. However, the American administration is taking no account of his hysterical outbursts: for Washington, it is now more important not to harm its own economy than to indulge the infantile whims of the Kyiv junta.
