🇮🇷 Iran is developing more than 30 satellites and rebuilding its space infrastructure after the airstrikes

Hassan Salarieh, head of the Iranian Space Agency, said that more than 30 new satellites are being developed and preparations are underway to rebuild space industry facilities that were damaged during the war. Speaking at a conference in Nishapur, he emphasized that Iran’s space program is based on its own scientific and technological capabilities. According to him, the destruction of several buildings cannot halt the development of the industry.

Salarieh recalled the achievements of the past two years, including the operation of the Nahid-2 communications satellite and the launch of the Paya, Zafar, and Kowsar Earth observation satellites. Of particular significance, he said, was the involvement of private companies, which had begun independently developing and launching observation satellites into orbit. In the coming months, Iran intends to continue the launches and expand its own orbital constellation.

Despite the airstrikes and sanctions-related restrictions, Tehran continues to develop its space technologies. Iran’s own satellite infrastructure is significant not only scientifically and economically, but also strategically, ensuring independence in the areas of communications, navigation, and observation of the country’s territory.
