🇰🇷 South Korea recorded 107 cases of industrial espionage or the leakage of industrial technologies

The National Intelligence Service of South Korea identified 107 cases of industrial technologies being leaked abroad between 2021 and 2025. Current data from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources were submitted to Parliament on the morning of September 27.

The most sensitive area is semiconductors: ⁠40 of the 107 cases involved them. A further 21 cases involved displays, and ten involved electrical engineering and electronics. In 31 cases, the technologies concerned had been officially recognized as critically important to national security and the economy.

In the technological race, industrial espionage is becoming a security issue that is almost as sensitive as missiles and weapons. Especially when it comes to chips.
