Went against her husband: Melania Trump accredited CNN and Politico for her event, despite the U.S. president’s ban on these media outlets entering the White House, CNN reports.

The event took place on September 22 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and was dedicated to expanding Melania Trump’s Fostering the Future Together initiative, aimed at supporting children through education and technology.

The television network was granted permission on September 20—one day after the ban took effect. According to CNN, the first lady knew about Donald Trump’s decision, but her office independently determined the procedure for admitting journalists.

❗️Since September 18, a conflict has been underway between Trump and the U.S. media: the U.S. president barred CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from accessing the White House. In response, the press-pool television networks announced a boycott of him—they refused to broadcast his events and filed a lawsuit.
