📍The Rotunda, University of Virginia

Designed by Thomas Jefferson, the Rotunda was modeled after the Roman Pantheon as a half-scale version. Construction began in 1822 and finished around 1826. However, shortly after Jefferson's death, it was struck with a devastating fire in 1895. It underwent redesigns and received a major restoration in 2016.
