Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf said, “Iran should also use diplomacy and negotiations to safeguard its national interests.” Translation: keep the tough talk, keep the slogans, but never actually close the door to negotiations.
After all the chest-thumping and grand speeches about never backing down, they end up saying exactly what they were trying to deny—they still want to negotiate. They just can’t be the first to make the move. The U.S. has to hand them a face-saving exit so they can negotiate while pretending they never backed down.
The truth is simple: it’s not that they don’t want talks—they do. They’re just terrified of losing face. The moment their loyal followers realize the regime can bend too, the whole image of being “forever tough and never compromising” starts to fall apart. 🤣
