Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, was questioned for the fourth time in Paris, lasting over six hours. This marks his fourth questioning by French judicial authorities since being formally charged in August 2024. His three lawyers subsequently stated that nearly two years later, there is still no evidence to support the charges, and they have filed complaints with French and European judicial authorities.
French authorities accuse Durov of failing to adequately review content on his platform and of not cooperating with law enforcement, alleging links to crimes including child pornography distribution, drug trafficking, and fraud. Paris prosecutors stated in May that the investigation is ongoing and Durov remains under judicial control. However, since November 2025, France has lifted restrictions on his movement, allowing him to leave the country freely.
