If a government can neither provide its people with a decent life nor build a safe and functional society, but instead uses religion and ideology to forcibly shape people’s thinking, then such a regime has fundamentally betrayed the very purpose of its existence. A regime that neither protects nor values its own people will inevitably be discarded by history.
