Niagara Launcher v1.16.32 · Minor Update

🖼️ Allow Setting a Separate Lockscreen Wallpaper
This resolves a major issue that many of you reported:
With the Studio Update, we introduced our own wallpaper picker in Niagara Launcher, which allows you to crop your wallpaper before applying it to your homescreen.
On some Android devices (e.g., on Google Pixel phones when setting a wallpaper from Google Photos), the wallpaper picker provided by the default launcher is always preferred for setting wallpapers. Since our wallpaper picker only supported the homescreen, this essentially prevented you from setting a separate lockscreen wallpaper with Niagara Launcher as your default launcher.
With this update, our wallpaper picker offers the option to only apply a wallpaper to the lockscreen, so this issue should now be a thing of the past.

🔢 Do Not Show Calculator in Search if There's Nothing to Calculate
Previously, the calculator would hijack the first search result when searching for apps such as "99" (a taxi app in Brazil). Besides being annoying, this prevented you from opening the app quickly by pressing Enter on your keyboard. This update fixes the issue by only displaying the calculator if there's actually something to calculate.
Thanks to everyone who reported this!

🌍 Update Translations
This week's update mostly features smaller bug fixes and behind-the-scenes changes from our side, so the prime spot is reserved for the updated translations provided by our Crowdin community. Thanks to them, adding widgets from apps that don't behave properly no longer involves a sudden switch to English when using Niagara Launcher in Spanish and Portuguese.

🛠️ Fix Visual Glitches in Settings on Android 8
Due to some oddities in Android 8, our settings were plagued by rendering issues after some recent changes, but only on that version of Android. We tracked down the issue and implemented a workaround, so the settings are now displayed correctly again.

🔑 Fix Sign In With Google on Android 13 and Below
On these Android versions, attaching the email address of your Google account to your Niagara Pro membership or restoring your membership on a new device using your Google account could fail with a cryptic error message. With this update, this shouldn't happen anymore.

💥 Fix Crash on Startup on Xiaomi Devices
Due to a recent change, a Xiaomi-specific quirk could crash Niagara Launcher on start. We've implemented a workaround for this, so this should no longer be an issue.

🔦 Show Tip to Turn Off Flashlight on Homescreen
If you've ever read up on the history of Niagara Launcher, you might know that it evolved from a simple flashlight app.
So with this update, we're going back to those roots again (at least a little bit):
Niagara Launcher now reminds you on the homescreen when your flashlight is on and offers a convenient way to turn it off.

🌍 Update Translations
Our Crowdin community did it again and refined Niagara Launcher for non-English-speaking users. Thank you very much!

🎨 Niagara Next: Redesign Dialogs
This update brings more of the Niagara Next redesign by changing the look of the dialogs found throughout Niagara Launcher's settings. The new style clearly emphasizes which parts of the dialog are interactive and which are not. This should make configuring Niagara Launcher even more intuitive than before.

💬 Fix Reply Text Field Not Being Selectable
Last week's behind-the-scenes changes unfortunately broke the option to reply to messages directly from the homescreen. This is fixed now, and replying should function properly again.

🌍 Update Translations
Most of our work this week happened behind the scenes and in the app's onboarding, so you're unlikely to notice anything different.
Except, of course, for the updated translations provided by our community. Thank you very much!

⏯️ Polish the Media Widget
Previously, the cover art's shadow was clipped off, and the media widget wasn't clipped properly when dismissed, so its content could extend beyond the rounded corners. Both of these visual artifacts are now fixed.

⌨️ Change Keyboard Handling Internals
As part of our work on Niagara Launcher for the Clicks Communicator, we are continuing to change how keyboard actions work in Niagara Launcher. If you are currently using Niagara Launcher with a hardware keyboard, please let us know over on our Feedback Board if you notice anything that has changed for the worse!

✨ Polish Onboarding
The onboarding now also uses the refreshed color palette, and we've trimmed the introduction video a bit.

🌍 Update Translations
Unlike the hotfix earlier this week, this update contains some refined translations provided by our Crowdin community again. Thank you very much for your contributions!
