Was, wenn der ganze Tollwut-Mythos auf Sand gebaut ist?
Was du über Tollwut weißt, basiert nicht auf reproduzierter Wissenschaft, sondern auf grausamen Tierversuchen, fehlenden Kontrollen – und einem „Erreger“, den man nie nachweisen konnte.

Geison wertet darin erstmals systematisch Pasteurs private Laborbücher aus und stellt deren Befunde Pasteurs öffentlichen Aussagen gegenüber.
🦠 Der „Erreger“: NIE isoliert.
Pasteur suchte ihn verzweifelt – gefunden hat er ihn nie.
“Pasteur […] had still not managed to isolate and cultivate a rabies microbe in artificial media, though he continued to presume that one must exist.”
🐺 Übertragung: NICHT reproduzierbar.
Weder Bisse, Speichel noch Injektionen führten zu reproduzierbaren Symptomen.
“Hitherto, research on rabies had been impeded by the fact that the disease was not consistently transmitted either by the injection of rabid saliva or the bite of a rabid animal… even subcutaneous injections of rabid nervous tissue did not always transmit the disease.”
📊 Statistik: völlig unbrauchbar.
Mangelnde Kontrollen, gleiche Überlebensraten – keine klaren Ergebnisse.
“In most cases, he did not employ control dogs at all. While conducting his trials on twenty-six bitten dogs, he used only seven controls […] the results […] were ambiguous at best. […] The survival rates […] treated dogs 50–78%, untreated controls 57–71%.”
🐶 Tierversuche im Frankenstein-Stil.
Pasteurs Team bohrte Löcher in Hundeschädel und schmierte Gehirnmasse symptomatischer Tiere direkt aufs Hirn – OHNE Kontrollen. Und selbst das funktionierte nicht verlässlich.
“[…] Roux’s method of intracranial inoculation […] through a trephined skull […] cerebral matter was extracted from a rabid dog and inoculated directly onto the surface of the brain of a healthy dog through a hole drilled into its skull. […] even this technique did not invariably succeed.”

Wissenschaft funktioniert nur, wenn Resultate wiederholbar sind – das war hier nicht der Fall. Prof. Anton von Frisch, einer der wenigen Forscher, die Pasteurs Methoden im Pariser Labor „aus erster Hand“ sehen durften, versuchte die Experimente zu reproduzieren – und scheiterte!
“Amoroso […] reported that he had been unable to replicate all of Pasteur’s results [...]. Von Frisch […] called the Pastorian statistics ‘totally worthless’ […] and […] reported that he had been unable to replicate the apparently decisive results.”

Eine englische Regierungskommission erkannte die Schwächen – und warnte vor Pasteurs Methode.
“[…] drew attention to the uncertainty of all statistics on rabies […] and suspected that at least one man may have died as a direct result of the Pastorian injections; in the end it favored muzzling & quarantine over Pasteur’s remedy.”

⚠️ Warum die Veröffentlichung von Pasteurs privaten Dokumenten trotz kontroverser Debatte scheinbar nichts geändert hat?
Weil ein Mythos, der einmal zum Dogma wird, sich aufgrund menschlicher Psychologie nur schwer umkehren lässt – selbst wenn die Originaldaten ihn widerlegen.
