Solana disclosed it processed 5 billion transactions in August, more than all other blockchains combined. It also confirmed its Alpenglow upgrade is slated for October.
Alpenglow is expected to cut confirmation times from ≈12 seconds to ≈400ms.
Matters because: Continued high usage supports Solana's competitive positioning versus other L1s, and the upgrade could strengthen that case if it ships on schedule.
