Ethereum core developers schedule account abstraction for the Hegotá upgrade – Link

Ethereum developers moved EIP-8141 (account abstraction) from "under consideration" to "scheduled" for the upcoming Hegotá hard fork. A separate proposal, EIP-8130, is planned for Base in September.

Matters because: account abstraction can improve wallet UX with gasless transactions and social recovery. A split between L1 and L2 standards could fragment tooling.
