Andre Cronje says "DeFi no longer exists, only on-chain finance remains" – Link

Fantom founder Andre Cronje argued most DeFi protocols have become centralized, company-run entities rather than truly decentralized systems. He cited DefiLlama data showing total DeFi TVL fell from $167B in Oct. 2022 to $75B currently.

Matters because: The commentary adds to scrutiny of decentralization claims and could matter for how DeFi protocols are classified by regulators.
