📹 MrBeast in Uzbekistan: What Really Happened?

He is the most-subscribed YouTuber in the world. His videos are watched by hundreds of millions of people, and he is famous for giving away huge amounts of money. This October, MrBeast came to Uzbekistan, and for a few days, the whole country was talking about only one person.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, came to Uzbekistan at the invitation of the Art and Culture Development Foundation. It was his first trip to Central Asia.

The Tourism Committee presented the visit as a chance to show Uzbekistan’s culture and tourism to the whole world. And of course, his team didn’t come just to relax. They were filming a new video. Imagine millions of people around the world seeing Uzbekistan in a MrBeast video. That’s the kind of advertising no country could easily buy.

On October 9, MrBeast arrived in Tashkent. A special event was organised for his fans, but not everyone could come. People had to fill in an online form, and the guests were chosen randomly by a computer. Followers, connections or money didn’t matter.

The event was just like his videos: challenges, quizzes and logic tasks. And the prize? Three participants won 100 million soums each. That’s 300 million soums in total!

Guests also received gift bags, and his team handed out Feastables, MrBeast’s own chocolate brand. A local artist gave the team a painting of them wearing traditional chapans, and MrBeast also received a real tailored chapan with his logo and the word “Uzbekistan” on it.

There was also a funny side to the visit. Some local businesses quickly made adverts using his photos, as if MrBeast had visited their shop or liked their products. Rumours also spread that a red Lamborghini from his challenge had crashed in Tashkent. The traffic police denied it, and MrBeast explained that the car had actually been damaged while filming in India 😄

On October 10, MrBeast travelled to Samarkand. As soon as people heard he was there, hundreds of fans, mostly children and teenagers, came out to see him. Some even ran after his team’s cars. The crowd was so big that it became difficult for him to move, and the police had to keep things under control.

According to reports, his personal visit to Bukhara and Khiva was later cancelled for safety reasons, but his film crew still visited both cities to film their historical sites.

The exact release date of the video hasn’t been announced yet. But when it comes out, millions of people around the world will see Tashkent, Samarkand and maybe Bukhara and Khiva too. For many of them, it may be the first time they ever hear about Uzbekistan.
