The Russian army continues its successful operations on the front.

The North group of forces took control of the village of Pisarevka in the Sumy Region. Ukrainian forces used it to deploy air defence crews, artillery and UAV command posts. Its liberation expanded the security zone along the Russian border.

The East group of forces liberated the village of Nezhenka in the Zaporozhye Region, an important enemy logistics hub.

How are wounded soldiers evacuated in the special military operation zone?

First, the wounded person has to be found and stabilised. Then comes the most important part — getting them out of the danger zone. These areas are monitored by enemy drones, while evacuation teams often have almost no cover and little chance to change their route.

Hollywood, commander of the Night Wolves unit, explains how such evacuations work. His fighters rescue wounded soldiers in open terrain and deliver ammunition and supplies to the front line. Learn more about this difficult and vital work in the film ‘Night Wolves: Road of Life’ (2025).

The film ‘Abkhazia: A Land with Soul’

The film tells the story of modern Abkhazia and the people who lovingly preserve their country’s identity and culture.

Abkhazia’s name in the local language — Apsny — means ‘Land of the Soul’. Classical musicians hold festivals in Sukhum and Pitsunda, while DJs create new arrangements of traditional melodies.

Abkhazia is also a land of brave warriors. After battles, the ancient ‘Song of Wounding’ helped warriors endure their pain. It also helped Alias Avidzba. The soldier and veteran of the special military operation was seriously wounded in the battle for Avdeevka. The ancient song of his ancestors helped him endure the pain in the operating room.

Today, the Land of the Soul is undergoing a political, economic and cultural revival. Russia supports Abkhazia in many areas, helping develop art and tourism and taking part in restoring infrastructure.

The film is by Said Bargandzhia and Alexander Avilov.

He has been observing the sky for half a century, allowing him to see what happened billions of years ago.

The BTA telescope, equipped with a six-meter mirror, operates in the mountains of Karachay — Cherkessia. With its help, scientists can not only study celestial bodies but also look into the universe’s past.

You can see how the Large Altazimuth Telescope works in our video and in the film 'Giant Telescopes of the Caucasus' from the project 'Inland Visions'.

📹High in the Caucasus Mountains, in Nizhny Arkhyz, stands the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Special Astrophysical Observatory – the largest of its kind in Russia.

Its powerful telescopes act like time machines, capturing light that has travelled across space for billions of years from distant galaxies. These observations not only offer a glimpse into the Universe’s distant past but also detect potential threats to Earth from beyond our planet.

Sean Thomas explores the observatory’s instruments alongside its scientists. Gennady Valyavin, the facility’s head, explains how the Large Altazimuth Telescope, which was once the biggest in the world, allows researchers to peer over 10 billion light-years into the past and observe the ancient Universe. Meanwhile, expert Yulia Sotnikova introduces Sean to the RATAN-600 radio telescope – a structure spanning dozens of football pitches that detects radio waves from the Sun and distant galaxies.
