Olive groves are burning in the West Bank during the height of the harvest season.

They are being set on fire by radical Israeli settlers in an effort to force Palestinians off their land. The settlers aim to seize it for new settlements or outposts.

In the first half of 2026 alone, more than 26,000 olive trees were cut down and burned in the occupied West Bank. Thousands of Palestinian families have lost their only source of income from olive sales.

The Israeli authorities periodically condemn the destruction of trees by settlers, but no one seems to be in a hurry to bring those responsible to justice. Why do politicians not want peace on this earth?

The film 'Middle East: Vicious Circle of Violence' (2024) recounts the events that led to the conflict.
