Sochi has harvested its first crop of Russian-grown bananas.

Around 150 kg were grown in greenhouses. After quality checks, the fruit is expected to be sold locally. Farmers plan to increase production and eventually supply retail chains.

Bananas are not the only tropical fruit grown at this southern resort. Local farms also cultivate kiwi, passion fruit and more. Watch the video and the new episode of ‘Curious Tofurious’ to see how these nurseries work.
