🤍hands-off - not directly involved; allowing other people to make decisions or do things on their own.
Our boss has a hands-off management style and rarely tells us exactly what to do.
🤍hands-on - actively involved in doing something yourself rather than just supervising or talking about it.
The workshop is very hands-on, so you’ll spend most of the time practising.
🤍hand in hand - happening together or being closely connected; also, physically holding hands.
Success and consistency often go hand in hand.
🤍at hand - nearby, available when needed, or about to happen very soon.
Keep your passport at hand when you’re travelling.
The solution may be closer at hand than you think.
🤍on hand - available, ready to be used or to help when necessary.
We always keep extra batteries on hand just in case.
Make sure you have enough cash on hand for emergencies.
🤍in hand - under control, being dealt with, or currently being worked on.
Everything is in hand, so there’s no need to worry.
The engineers have the problem well in hand.
