Statement issued by Hamas

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirms that the escalation of settler terrorism and attacks by occupation forces in the West Bank, accompanied by the targeting of farmers and olive harvesters, the burning of vehicles, the seizure of property, raids on homes, and the arrest of citizens, comes within the context of a systematic aggression sponsored by Netanyahu’s terrorist government and carried out by settlers under the protection of the occupation army, in an attempt to impose a reality of annexation, displacement, and control over the West Bank.

The occupation and Netanyahu’s government are betting that they can subjugate our people through terrorism, killing, arrest, and displacement. These bets will fail. Our people, deeply rooted in their land and steadfast in their rights, will not be intimidated by the occupation’s crimes, nor will their will be broken. They will continue their struggle and legitimate resistance until they reclaim their freedom and drive out the occupation.

We warn of the consequences of the continued crimes of the occupation and the terrorism of its settlers. We call on the international community, UN institutions, and free people around the world to shoulder their responsibilities and translate their condemnations into practical steps to hold the criminal occupation leaders accountable and put an end to settler attacks against our people, our land, and our holy sites.

We call for strengthening our people’s steadfastness, particularly with the beginning of the olive harvest season, which carries national symbolism embodying deep roots in the land and adherence to rights. We also call for expanding on-the-ground support for farmers, confronting settler attacks against them and their property, and providing them with the necessary support to face these crimes.
