Boris Valentinovich Shcherbakov
"Autumn in the Yasnaya Polyana Park," 1960

The canvas depicts the famous linden avenue "Prepsect" in the museum-estate of Leo Tolstoy, "Yasnaya Polyana."

"What beauty this autumn is! If I were a painter, I would capture this quiet, pensive, golden season, when the earth rests beneath a soft carpet of leaves."
— Leo Tolstoy (the estate's owner, whose home is depicted in the painting).
