Alternatives to Essentials

Do any of you know good alternatives to essentials, I think the mod seems a bit bloated with all the cosmetics and whatnot and I think ive heard some people say the mod author and mod are sketchy, idk if thats just me misremembering but either way id be interested in alternatives. Also yes i know i could just host a server or use a free provider, but the first option is too expensive and the second option is bad. ;3
