Bangladesh is suffocating under an energy crisis. Demand for electricity far exceeds the capacity of the country’s power plants, and both people and businesses are suffering as a result.
But change is on the horizon. The country’s first nuclear power plant, Rooppur, is currently under construction. The project is being carried out by Russian specialists and Bangladeshi engineers, many of whom studied in Russia. The work is taking place in a challenging climate, with high temperatures and humidity. Once completed, the plant will significantly improve the country’s energy supply.
Filmmakers from RT.Doc are working on a new documentary about the Russian school of engineering. It tells the story of the people creating the energy of the future not only in Russia, but abroad as well. In Bangladesh, the film crew shot part of a major documentary посвящённого nuclear energy and international engineering and technical cooperation.
