The film 'Lebanon. The Yellow Line'.
In southern Lebanon, life is measured not in days but in the pauses between strikes. Every morning, construction worker Ali checks the news: will his crew go to work today, or will they have to evacuate under shelling? The war has separated him from his wife and children.
Ali lives and works in Nabatieh, near the 'Yellow Line' — the boundary of the area controlled by the Israeli army. Before the war, his crew built houses. Now they clear away ruins.
One of his clients decides to resume a construction project that was put on hold. He wants his neighbours to see that even near the 'Yellow Line', it is possible to build and return to normal life. More and more work goes into the building each day, even though no one knows whether it will survive the next strike.
Watch Alexander Kharchenko’s film about life in southern Lebanon during the ceasefire.
