🟢The dodo, or Mauritian dodo, lived on the island of Mauritius for hundreds of thousands of years. Until the end of the 17th century.

But it took less than a century for humans and the animals they brought with them (dogs, pigs, rats) to completely exterminate these trusting birds. Today, the dodo is a symbol of how easily human activity can erase an entire species from the face of the Earth.
