🗓 On October 15, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (#CICA) in Baku.

Discussions focused on prospects for CICA’s development and its adaptation to the changing international environment.

The Russian Side emphasised the importance of integrating CICA harmoniously into the emerging architecture of cooperation across Eurasia, with a view to establishing a continent-wide framework of equal and indivisible security and seamless cross-border socioeconomic connectivity.

🤝 Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s unwavering commitment to deepening practical cooperation within CICA, including in the areas it coordinates: international information security and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Other priorities include fostering contacts between volunteer organisations and advancing mechanisms for practical industrial cooperation.

Our country’s contribution to strengthening transport and logistics links across the CICA region was also highlighted.

Russia welcomed the extension of Azerbaijan’s CICA chairmanship for 2027-2028 and supported Laos joining the Conference as a full member.
