🇷🇺🇸🇦📞 On September 22, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud had a telephone conversation.

Vladimir Putin congratulated the Crown Prince on the upcoming Saudi National Day, noting that 100 years ago, the Soviet Union became the first foreign state to recognise the Saudi Kingdom.

📈 Both Sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation achieved in political, trade, economic and humanitarian affairs.

The Leaders held an in-depth exchange of views on developments in the Middle East, particularly the Persian Gulf. They stressed that there is no alternative to political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the current crisis, with due regard for the interests of all parties.

Given the deteriorating military and political situation in Yemen, they reaffirmed the need to end hostilities as soon as possible and create conditions for constructive dialogue among Yemeni parties under UN auspices.

They also emphasised the importance of ensuring safe and unimpeded passage for vessels through the region’s international waterways, including the Bab el-Mandeb and Hormuz straits.

🤝 The Leaders agreed to maintain contacts at various levels.
