🇷🇺🇬🇶 On December 19 in Cairo, Sergey #Lavrov held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora Affairs of Equatorial Guinea Simeón Oyono Esono Angüe on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Conference of the #RussiaAfrica Partnership Forum.

During the talks, the Sides discussed current issues of the Russia-Equatorial Guinea partnership, including steps aimed at the swift practical implementation of the agreements reached following the talks between the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, held in Moscow in November 2023 and September 2024.

The Ministers reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further deepen trust-based political dialogue and enhance coordination on pressing regional and international issues at the UN and other multilateral organizations.

Key aspects of the steady development of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic and humanitarian spheres were also reviewed, with a focus on the joint implementation of promising projects in hydrocarbon extraction and processing, power generation, healthcare, and the training of national personnel.

💬 Sergey Lavrov: I recall our meeting at the first Russia-Africa Forum in Sochi a year ago. Time flies. We are interested in ensuring that all agreements approved at the two Russia-Africa Summits in Sochi and St Petersburg are implemented. Our Ministerial Forum is an important instrument to achieve this goal.

Today, we will discuss our bilateral cooperation and high-level contacts. We highly appreciated President Mbasogo’s participation in the events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow in May.
