🗓 On November 29, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in a roundtable discussion titled Ukraine Crisis: Global Information Space.

Held by the Diplomatic Academy with the Foreign Ministry’s support, this event brought together over 70 ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow.

In his remarks, Sergey Lavrov spoke at length about various media-related matters, including the violation of the rights of journalists and countering fake news, Western attempts to control the international media landscape and impose neo-colonial practices in this domain. He described these approaches as being unacceptable for the Global Majority.

The Minister cited examples demonstrating that our adversaries have been intentionally using the information space for subjecting to their system-wide repression of the Russian media, as well as representatives of media outlets in other countries that try to report honestly and objectively on approaches of the West.

In addition to this, Sergey Lavrov offered a detailed insight into Moscow’s overall position on the Ukraine crisis in its key aspects.

The participants in the roundtable engaged in a lively interactive discussion and exchanged views on the conflict around Ukraine and other topical international matters.
