SCORE (systematic coronary risk evaluation)
🔹assesses the likelihood of experiencing the first major cardiovascular event
in the next ten years.
🔹it has 6 variables:
🔸gender
🔸age
🔸diabetes status
🔸cigarette
🔸serum cholesterol
🔸blood pressure
🔹For men and women between 40-69 years old.
🔹The chart is not applicable for extreme values outside specific ranges (BP <90 or >200 mmHg; Cholesterol <174 or >320 mg/dL). Patients with these values require immediate clinical assessment regardless of the chart.
🔹Ex: 48 year old diabetic and non-smoker man with bp= 140 and serum chl= 260.
The risk will be 5-10%
This means that out of 100 people with the exact same risk factors, 5 to 10 of them are predicted to experience a major cardiovascular event (like a heart attack or stroke) over the next 10 years.
❌data of this chart are gathered from Europe and are not reliable for other regions.
❌"The chart shown is an adaptation/example based on the Italian CUORE/European SCORE methodology..."
