🇻🇪 Trump-Rodriguez Election Contact

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he spoke this week with Venezuela interim President Delcy Rodriguez about elections. That is the only explicit detail in the Reuters item: a direct conversation, this week, centered on elections involving Washington and Caracas.

Even at face value, this points to backchannel politics around a fragile state long tied to sanctions games, migration pressure, and regional instability. When elections in Venezuela become a U.S.-level contact issue, expect messaging battles and sovereignty theater, not clean institutional strength.
