The Syrian Oversight and Inspection Authority has summoned the Director of the Syrian Petroleum Company (Syrian Ministry of Energy) to investigate him regarding his direct signing of fictitious contracts.

This resulted in the embezzlement of over $100 million of public funds during the first six months of this year.
