Appearance of an opened colectomy specimen containing an invasive colorectal carcinoma and two adenomatous polyps

Colorectal cancer is the development of cancer from the colon or rectum. Signs and symptoms may include blood in the stool, a change in bowel movements, weight loss, and fatigue.
Adenomatous polyps, or adenomas, are polyps that grow on the lining of the colon and which carry a high risk of cancer. The adenomatous polyp is considered pre-malignant.
