⚡️🇸🇦🇮🇷🇾🇪 — A senior Saudi diplomat accused Iran of encouraging increased Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, saying Tehran continues to arm, train and support the group in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and the 2023 Beijing agreement between Riyadh and Tehran, According to ALARABIYA English.
➡️ Saudi Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy Rayed Krimly said the Houthis had rejected a Saudi proposal to hold talks in Oman in July to resolve outstanding disputes and ease tensions in Yemen. ➡️ Krimly said Saudi Arabia remains open to dialogue with Iran and maintains direct communication channels with the Houthis, with Oman facilitating the talks. He also pointed to Russian and Chinese involvement in providing capabilities and intelligence that have benefited Iran and the Houthis, saying Riyadh regularly discusses these concerns with Moscow and Beijing.
➡️ On efforts to end the US-Iran war, Krimly said Saudi Arabia supports mediation led by Pakistan and Qatar, but negotiations remain stalled over safe passage for commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the framework for future talks on Iran’s nuclear program.
