⚡️🇵🇸 — Palestinian officials have told France that legislative elections planned for November 28 will be postponed by several months due to worsening conditions across the Palestinian territories, according to a letter seen by Reuters.

The letter said the political, security, and economic conditions the vote was based on "have not materialized," and that holding elections now faces obstacles affecting their inclusiveness, freedom of participation, and integrity.

Palestinians have not held legislative elections since 2005-06. The letter said officials expected conditions to improve through Trump's peace initiative, international forces in Gaza, Hamas's disarmament, and the release of $7 billion in withheld Palestinian funds — but "these steps, understandings and promises have not materialized. Rather, conditions have worsened."
