⚡️🇺🇸🇬🇧🇮🇷 — The U.S. urgently moved its bombers from RAF Fairford, Britain, after receiving new intelligence that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was preparing a large-scale drone attack; U.S. officials described the reported plan as a complex, multi-pronged Iranian operation intended to target aircraft and kill some of the hundreds of U.S. military personnel stationed at Fairford, with the assessment that Iran may have drawn inspiration from Ukraine’s “Spider Web” attack on Russian bases deep inside Russia on 1 June 2025, when Kyiv reportedly smuggled hundreds of drones into Russia and struck numerous aircraft at military bases. — NYT

➡️ Rubio initially said the bomber movement was part of “regular rotations” of U.S. Air Force assets worldwide and not directly linked to an Iranian threat, but President Donald Trump contradicted him hours later, saying the bombers were moved because of an Iranian security threat: “They didn't fly out by accident ... there was a threat. We moved them around a little bit”.

Trump added that the U.S. knows who was behind the threat and their links to Iran, and said he believed Iran was responsible when asked about the attempted attack on a Flydubai flight.
