⚡️🇸🇦🇵🇰🇹🇷 — Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye convened an emergency meeting of the Makkah Alliance for Defense’s Strategic-Political and Defense Committee in Riyadh on 5 October 2026 over threats facing the Kingdom, appointing Pakistan’s Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Nauman Mahmood as the Alliance’s first Secretary-General for a three-year term. The parties condemned the attempted targeting of Makkah and Madinah and continued attacks on Saudi cities and civilian/economic facilities, while Pakistan and Türkiye commended the Saudi Armed Forces’ vigilance and readiness.

➡️ After reviewing prior political and military consultations and approving their recommendations, the Committee decided to “move immediately to the practical implementation of the collective defense commitments,” including provision of agreed military forces and capabilities for rapid deployment in Saudi Arabia under approved arrangements and national legislation, to strengthen readiness, military integration and collective capacity against threats.

➡️ The parties affirmed that each member’s security is integral to the collective security of all three states and that operationalizing the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defense would reinforce collective-defense credibility and deterrence while reaffirming their unity and determination to defend security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
