🚨🇸🇾 — An explosion on a gas pipeline near the Tishreen power plant in the Haran al-Awamid area, close to Damascus International Airport, has forced the Deir Ali, Al-Nasiriya, and Tishreen power plants offline, triggering widespread power cuts across Damascus. Civil defense teams are on site with the fire still ongoing — Syrian Electricity Company.

The incident follows a separate pipeline sabotage in the Al-Shoula area near Deir ez-Zor on Monday, which halted gas flow from the Al-Jabsah plant to power stations — SANA. A pipeline at the same facility was also targeted in a deliberate attack on August 18.

ISIS remnants regularly target Syrian energy infrastructure in asymmetric attacks aimed at undermining Damascus' control over its energy supply network.
