⚡️🇮🇱🇪🇬 — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that in the months before 7 October he neither met nor spoke with then-Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel and that no Israeli intelligence official conveyed an Egyptian warning to him; he said he had also ordered a defamation lawsuit over the claim. Netanyahu reiterated that “Prime Minister Netanyahu never meets or speaks with the head of a foreign intelligence service without their Israeli counterparts.”

He further alleged that on the night of 7 October, former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar held multiple conversations with then-IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Aman chief Aharon Haliva in which “they discussed all the warning signs,” yet decided not to call and update the prime minister, warn security alert squads or IDF forces in the field, evacuate the Nova festival, and instead sent only a small Tequila team, which Netanyahu said “proves that he knew of a real danger.”

➡️ Netanyahu also accused what he described as the left-wing media of a campaign intended to shift Bar’s failures and alleged “crimes” before 7 October onto him, and alleged that foreign and hostile states and actors, including Arab states, were seeking to bring down his right-wing government and replace it with a coalition involving left-wing and Arab parties led by Gadi Eisenkot, Yair Golan and Avigdor Lieberman, which he said would withdraw from Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Judea and Samaria and establish a Palestinian state. He framed the political choice as: “It is either the right, or Palestine.”
