⚡️🇮🇱🇦🇪 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi on Sunday during a roughly four-hour visit, according to N12.
Two sources confirmed Netanyahu travelled on a private aircraft, while the outlet reported that he and his delegation arrived on several aircraft and that most of the meeting was held one-on-one. Netanyahu returned to Israel the same evening, while his office declined to provide further details.
➡️ The undisclosed visit took place one month before Israel’s elections and two days after Netanyahu returned from the UN General Assembly in New York, amid renewed attention to a reported warning call between Netanyahu and bin Zayed ahead of 7 October. According to a report by Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuval cited by N12, bin Zayed had warned Netanyahu before the 7 October attack that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was planning a major move against Israel and urged him to act against the threat.
The reported 45-minute call, according to the same account, included bin Zayed warning that the expected event could cause extensive bloodshed, destabilize the region and damage the Abraham Accords, while Netanyahu responded relatively calmly to the information. N12 said no Emirati official had publicly denied that the call took place and that other sources had also confirmed it.
