🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 — A 29-year-old Palestinian driver carried out a vehicular ramming attack at the Bell Checkpoint on Highway 443 near Beit Horon in the Binyamin sector of the West Bank, intentionally swerving from a designated Palestinian transit lane and striking Israeli reservist Neria Leiter outside a police cruiser. Security forces killed the driver at the scene after he attempted to strike another soldier — Ynet.

➡️ Leiter, who was severely injured, is an IDF reserve soldier and the son of Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter; his eldest brother, Maj. Moshe Yedidya Leiter, was killed in action in Gaza in November 2023. Addressing the attack, Ambassador Leiter characterized "Palestinian terrorism" as an existential effort to “uproot the people of Israel from their land,” contrasting what he described as the societal postures of the two sides.

➡️ IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered a division-level force-structure adjustment in response to the attack and broader regional security escalations, deploying the 98th Division Headquarters to the West Bank to assume operational command of the Judea and Etzion Brigades. The IDF Spokesperson said the division-level activation is intended to reinforce command-and-control structures and significantly expand both defensive and offensive operations across the sector.
