⚡️🇺🇸🇨🇳 — The upcoming Trump-Xi meeting's agenda includes critical questions on Iran and China's leverage as the largest buyer of Iranian oil, Fox News correspondent Steve Harrigan reported, noting Beijing could use that leverage to push for a diplomatic solution.
➡️ Harrigan said potential business deals are also in play, with President Xi bringing a number of CEOs, an unusual move for China, and raised the possibility of movement on Chinese electric vehicles entering the US market or being built there, something President Trump has mentioned in the past. He said the two sides are likely to show a contrast in styles, with the Chinese choreographing every event down to the last photo op while the Trump administration is more free-wheeling.
➡️ The highlight is expected to be the state dinner, a very tough ticket, with several heads of major U.S. tech and AI companies expected to attend, including Elon Musk, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and OpenAI’s Sam Altman. Trump said thousands would love to be at that dinner, calling it “a very tough ticket” and saying he told good friends they “just can’t come.” He said he and Xi “get along well” and have “a good relationship,” adding “we’re doing very well with China.” Harrigan also noted that when you talk to people in Beijing about AI, they have different concerns than you often hear in the West.
