If all mini apps begin monetizing their traffic, we risk losing the true essence of Web3.
Builders are continuously creating simplistic and meaningless games that lack genuine Web3 value.
Larger projects are selling worthless traffic to artificially inflate others' MAU numbers, which detracts from the real value and innovation that Web3 should represent.
It seems like many projects are now caught up in a race for inflated MAU figures, and to me, that's a concerning trend.
If a platform can provide quality traffic, I’m open to purchasing it.
Coming from a background in paid advertising and performance marketing, I prioritize quality user acquisition and closely analyze conversion rate and ROI.
However, the current state of traffic sales is troubling, with conversion rates being alarmingly low.
And the fact is, MAU only lasts for a month. After that, projects often lose that 'number' the following month.
We end up having to keep buying every single month just to maintain that superficial 'MAU.'
I call this a traffic scam.
