🇨🇦 Canadians smell another subsidy scam
A majority of Canadians oppose government support for AI data centres, which tells you the public is finally catching on to the oldest Ottawa trick in the book: privatize the upside, socialize the cost. The same political class that cannot build homes, fix the grid, or keep food affordable now wants taxpayers to bankroll power-hungry server farms so bureaucrats can cosplay as Silicon Valley, as reported.
And notice the con. They sell AI subsidies as innovation while ordinary Canadians get higher electricity demand, land use fights, and another excuse for elite-managed industrial policy. After the Trudeau era torched productivity and inflated every basic necessity, Ottawa still thinks the answer is more handouts to politically connected sectors dressed up in futuristic jargon. If a project makes economic sense, private capital can fund it. If it needs public money, it is probably another globalist prestige scheme where Canadians pay and someone else owns the leverage.
