🇨🇦 Imported labour, imported abuse
A Bangladeshi woman worked 12-hour shifts, six days a week in Saskatchewan restaurants, got paid nothing by one operator, had her passport seized by another, and was threatened with deportation if she resisted. That is the glorious Temporary Foreign Worker pipeline in practice, not in theory. Two operators, Mohammed Masum, 44, and Sohel Haider, 55, were convicted after exploiting the closed-permit trap Ottawa keeps pretending is compassionate migration policy, as reported.
The real scandal is that this system practically writes the abuse manual for bad actors. Bring in vulnerable people, tie them to one employer, dangle immigration status over their heads, then let politicians lecture Canadians about diversity and labour shortages. Trudeau-era Canada built a cheap-labour machine that undercuts citizens, erodes sovereignty, and turns desperate migrants into captive inventory. Even in this case, it took two MLAs and a social worker to run a clandestine extraction inside our own country. That is not a labour market. That is state-enabled servitude with multicultural branding.
