🇨🇦 Campus Saint-Jean gets the bureaucratic blender treatment
A French-language campus in Alberta is now fighting its own university bureaucracy for the right not to be diluted into managerial mush. That is the real story reported. Campus Saint-Jean exists to preserve a historic francophone minority, yet the modern Canadian institution can preserve everything except the people and traditions it was built for. Governance tweaks, restructuring, administrative streamlining, same old script. The blob always arrives with a spreadsheet and calls it progress.
This is what late-stage Trudeau Canada looks like: endless lectures about diversity while actual founding cultures get managed into irrelevance by centralized administrators, legal abstractions and identity-industrial jargon. Ottawa and its satellite class love post-national branding, but real bilingual heritage outside Quebec is apparently negotiable when it collides with university empire-building. Alberta should treat this as a sovereignty issue at the provincial and civilizational level, not a campus spat. If institutions cannot defend Canada’s historic communities, they are not neutral. They are demolition crews with HR departments.
