🇨🇦 Most Canadians oppose lifting provincial bans on U.S. booze
69 per cent want the bans kept, and 54 per cent say keep them even if Washington retaliates. That is the part the managerial class never understands: people can smell weakness, and they are tired of surrender dressed up as pragmatism. The survey shows voters do not want Canada folding the second tariffs appear on the horizon.
The real split is political and generational. Liberal and NDP voters back the restrictions at 83 and 84 per cent, while Conservative voters are more divided at 53 per cent. Fine. But even there, the majority still rejects automatic capitulation. Older Canadians are the least interested in de-escalation, which says a lot about who still thinks in national terms instead of borderless consumer terms. Alberta and Saskatchewan never joined the ban, Quebec was not surveyed, and Ottawa still floats around pretending every trade fight can be solved with better messaging. No. A country that caves under pressure teaches the world to apply more pressure.
